Erin and Sharlene are living their dream. Their new wedding planning business, "The Happiest Day," is a monumental success. In one year, they are so busy they decide to hire an assistant. Erin is also overjoyed when her son, Jordan and his fiance' request their services for their upcoming wedding.
Shortly after Jordan's wedding, Erin receives bad news. Her father has had a stroke. His second wife, Delores (15 years his junior) has made it clear that she will not be her husband's caregiver. After Delores leaves, Erin finds herself asking Sharlene to run the business while she takes care of her father at his cottage located hundreds of miles from her home.
This novel meticulously examines the difficulties some of us are now experiencing: caring for aging parents. In addition to the caregiving, the protagonist finds herself trying to rebuild a relationship with her father which she thought was long dead.
